The 13th Annual Heart Rhythm & ECG Course concentrates on general ECG understanding, guidelines on atrial fibrillation (A-fib) and heart failure management. Course topics include recent advances in A-fib management, interventional procedures and their indications, evolving stroke risk score, device management, and sudden cardiac death. This course allows healthcare professionals to update their medical knowledge, enhance clinical skills, and support professional development through a dynamic curriculum. Attendees realize important advances in the medical field while addressing desired educational needs and current practice gaps. Through didactic lectures, case-study presentations, and audience interaction, this course strives to develop and promote continuing education with the ultimate goal of enhancing patient care.

Call for Abstracts

As part of the 13th Annual Heart Rhythm & ECG Course, all trainees involved in cardiac services are invited to submit an abstract for presentation of original research dedicated to the field of Cardiovascular Diseases. Projects can be clinical or laboratory based. Abstracts should be 300 words or less and may include one figure or table.

Target Audience

This course is intended for general internists, hospitalists, family practitioners, and allied health staff participating in cardiac services.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize common ECG patterns.
  • Discuss current guidelines for the management of atrial fibrillation.
  • Recognize anticoagulation via validated risk-scoring systems, including consideration of left atrial appendage occlusion devices.
  • Summarize life-style measures which can decrease atrial fibrillation burden.
  • List criteria for selection of patients for ablation of atrial fibrillation.
  • Identify criteria for appropriate patients to undergo MRI who have a CIED.
  • Review current guidelines for implantable defibrillator in primary prevention of sudden death.
  • Recognize treatment for pacemaker and ICD implantation complications.

A charge of $30.00 per person, per night will be added to the folio for each guest over double occupancy. There will be no charge for children up to and including the age of 18 years who share the room with their parents. Maximum occupancy per room: four (4).

A daily resort service charge of $52.00, plus 14.02% tax is optional. Individual group guests will have the opportunity to select to receive bundle of added values and will not automatically be charged a daily resort fee. Should group guests wish to elect a daily resort fee, they will receive amenities such as:

  • Unlimited basic Internet access in guestrooms
  • Afternoon access to Trailblazers Recreation Center for the family, hours: 1 to 5 pm. *Morning access (9 to 11:30 am) to Trailblazers Kids Club Program and lunch (11:30 am to 1 pm) is available at an additional cost for up to three children (Ages 5-12)
  •  $30 Well & Being credit toward a body or facial treatment per paid night, valid once per day. Spa treatments receive access to Well & Being Spa amenities for the day, including: co-ed waterfall treatment pool, sauna, steam room, aromatherapy lounge, private rooftop pool and more (credit not cumulative and valid once per day) 
  • Shuttle transportation service to and from Toro Latin Restaurant & Rum Bar, TPC Scottsdale and Grayhawk golf courses (not to be utilized for organized group movements)
