The Mayo Clinic Cardiology Update course features an overview of current diagnosis and management strategies across a broad spectrum of cardiovascular diseases including arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, ischemic heart disease, cardiomyopathies, congestive heart failure, aortopathies, artificial intelligence and preventive cardiology. Faculty engage learners through interactive didactic and case discussions.

Target Audience

The intended audience includes practicing cardiologists, cardiovascular and internal medicine trainees, emergency medicine physicians, internal medicine physicians, family medicine specialists and trainees, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and any staff with a cardiovascular interest.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify key updates in the management of atrial fibrillation from the 2023 ACC AHA ACCP HRS guidelines and discuss new clinical trial data since its publication.
  • Define the role of conduction system pacing in clinical practice.
  • Summarize viability testing in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy and its role in the decision-making process of coronary intervention.
  • Describe coronary diagnosis and interventions for non-atherosclerotic CAD.
  • Describe the impact of weight loss medications in cardiovascular medicine: prevention and beyond.
  • Identify percutaneous mitral valve procedures current and future state.
  • Illustrate a guideline-based approach to the management of aortopathies.
  • Formulate an approach to diagnosing and treating various forms of cardiac amyloid.
  • Summarize current guideline-based practice for the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension.
  • Describe an approach to the use of effective non-statin therapies for lipid lowering in challenging cases of hypercholesterolemia.

Reservations for Mayo Clinic Cardiology 2026 are available to be booked at the group rate for stays from July 28, 2026 - August 03, 2026. This special rate is only available for booking until July 07, 2026. Group rates may also be extended for up to 3 days prior and 3 days after the event dates, subject to resort availability.
