This Mayo Clinic and Kaiser Permanente collaboration offers a comprehensive family medicine update course designed for practicing primary care and family medicine providers. This course highlights the latest recommendations involving medical specialties important to the primary care setting that can be applied immediately into practice. For those attending in person, the use of lectures, panel and roundtable discussion offers attendees opportunities to interact with faculty. This livestream option offers the presenter's voice and slides; a video of the speaker is not provided. 

Target Audience

This course is designed for family physicians, general internists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses in primary care and family practice.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Formulate new treatment options for the management of patients with migraine headaches
  • Integrate skills for a proper knee examination and diagnosis
  • Describe alternative pharmacotherapy and treatment options in obesity
  • Formulate a manage approach for a patient with chronic kidney disease
  • Identify how to manage a patient with a pulmonary hypertension
  • Describe new treatment options for the outpatient management of pulmonary embolism/atrial fibrillation
