December 4, 2024 - Simulation Center - Mayo Clinic - Jacksonville, Florida
The Hands-On Point-of-Care Ultrasound & Transesophageal Echocardiography for Optimizing the Care of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Patients is a comprehensive, interactive course designed to equip healthcare providers with critical skills in the use of bedside ultrasound and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) to improve patient outcomes during ECMO therapy. This course combines didactic lectures with hands-on workshops, providing participants with direct experience in the application of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and TEE techniques for the evaluation and management of patients on ECMO. Through practical sessions, participants will learn how to optimize cardiac function, assess hemodynamics, and make informed decisions regarding ECMO therapy in critical care settings.
Target Audience
ECMO specialists, respiratory therapists, nurses, perfusionists and physicians specializing in critical care medicine, pulmonary medicine, emergency medicine, cardiothoracic surgery, and cardiology. Also, those interested in a foundational education in caring for the ECMO patient may benefit from this course.
