The annual Mayo Clinic Thyroid and Parathyroid Disorders Course 2025 is a three-day CME course offering a comprehensive review of diagnostic techniques and medical and surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid disorders. Topics of discussion include the assessment of benign thyroid diseases as well as pre-and postoperative management of thyroid cancer and parathyroid disorders. Discussions include review of cutting-edge imaging modalities and diagnostic methods such as molecular testing for evaluation of thyroid nodules as well as therapeutic options for the management of benign and malignant thyroid and parathyroid conditions. This course consists of a combination of lectures and panel discussions about diagnostic and therapeutic options for management of challenging parathyroid and thyroid cases, as well as roundtable small group discussions with various experienced speakers.

As part of the 6th Annual Mayo Clinic Thyroid and Parathyroid Disorders Course poster session, the presentation of original research related to the field of diagnostic techniques and medical and surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid disorders will be held at the meeting. Accepted abstract recipients will be notified by email after the deadline. Registration is required for all poster presenters.
Submitted abstracts may include: the assessment of benign thyroid diseases as well as pre-and postoperative management of thyroid cancer and parathyroid disorders; review of cutting-edge imaging modalities and diagnostic methods such as molecular testing for evaluation of thyroid nodules as well as therapeutic options for the management of benign and malignant thyroid and parathyroid conditions. Target Audience
The course is designed for endocrinologists, endocrine surgeons, head and neck surgeons, primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other providers who care for patients with thyroid and parathyroid disorders.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Evaluate primary hyperparathyroidism using updated guidelines and advanced imaging modalities.
- Assess and manage various calcium, phosphorus, and bone metabolism disorders.
- Review surgical approaches for effective management of primary hyperparathyroidism.
- Apply the latest guidelines to diagnose and manage hypoparathyroidism.
- Employ evidence-based practices to improve the care of thyroid disorders in special populations.
- Discuss surgical management of thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer.
- Review the impact of diet and supplements in thyroid health.
- Apply guidelines for the evaluation and management of thyroid nodules and cancer.
