ForwardEndocrine Update 2024 - Livestream (virtual)

Designed for endocrinologists and interested internists and surgeons, this course addresses gaps in medical knowledge and barriers in clinical practice to improve the outcomes of patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders. This program will consist of lecture, small group, panel discussion formats covering best practices, barriers to optimal patient outcomes and new approaches to the evaluation and management of complex and common endocrine disorders. In addition, this year's program will bring new delivery formats to the audience, including clinical debates and clinicopathological conferences.

Target Audience
This course is designed to meet the professional needs of practicing endocrinologists, endocrine surgeons, and interested internists who care for adults with endocrine disorders.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Evaluate the efficacy of incretin therapy in the management of obesity.
- Identify the patient who would benefit from therapy to delay the progression towards Type 1 diabetes mellitus.
- Examine the benefits and limitations in using bone turnover markers to guide decisions and individualize care in patients with osteoporosis.
- Appraise available literature on diagnosis and management of thyroid cancer.
- Identify strategies to personalize treatment approaches in patients with suspected or confirmed thryoid cancer.

It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

ABS Accredited CME
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME requirements of the American Board of Surgery's Continuous Certification program.
