This course offers attendees a comprehensive update in the diagnosis and management of key diseases in hematology and medical oncology. Presentations provide updates on new data and best practices for physicians and the healthcare team. The format for this activity is didactic presentations followed by Q&A sessions. In person and virtual attendance will be offered. Continuing medical education credits will be offered for physicians, APPs, pharmacists, and nurses.

Target Audience

This course is designed for physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and nurses interested in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with hematologic and oncologic disorders. Hospitalists, family medicine providers, general internists, or other healthcare professionals may benefit from this program.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify optimal treatment selection for castrate-resistant prostate cancer patients.
  • Identify targeted therapy for IDH 1 and 2 mutant grade 2 glioma patients.
  • Review the first-line treatment options for metastatic colorectal cancer patients.
  • Recognize different ways to manage stage III lung cancer.
  • Identify the role of immunotherapy in the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer patients.
  • Review the indications for bispecific T cell engagers (bispecific antibodies) in lymphoma.
  • Review the potential toxicities and toxicity management for multiple myeloma patients receiving CART or bispecific antibodies.
  • Describe the application of newly approved drugs for classical hematology.
  • Identify treatment strategies for Richter’s transformation.

A block of rooms at a special group rate of $409 (USD), plus applicable local and state taxes, per night, is available for course participants and guests. A limited number of rooms are available two days prior to and two days after course dates.

For Mayo Clinic Hematology & Oncology, the mandatory resort fee is $25.00 (regularly $35) per room, per day, plus tax and includes the following services and amenities:

  • Resort Wide premium wireless Internet access in guest rooms, public areas, and meeting space. 
  • Any local, long-distance (domestic), and 1-800 guest room calls.
  • Access to Agave, The Arizona Spa facilities (guests must be at least 18 years or older), Run Concierge, and boot camp, yoga, and Wellness Walk classes.
  • Complimentary two-hour bike rental per registered guest per day, based on availability.
  • Tennis, Pickleball, and Basketball court privileges, including equipment rental.

Hotel Parking Fees:

  • Overnight Self-parking:  $20.00 per car, per day.
  • Overnight Valet:  $39.00 per car, per day.
