Mayo Clinic Angiogenesis and Tumor Microenvironment Symposium: From Translational Research to Precision Clinical Practice 2016

Amelia Island, FL US
November 18, 2016 to November 20, 2016

Course Director: Debabrata Mukhopadhyay, Ph.D.
Co-Course Directors: Asher Chanan-Khan, M.D., Leslie Cooper, Jr., M.D.

The main goal of our symposium is to bring together basic scientists and clinical experts in the field of angiogenesis, microenvironment, cancer and cardiovascular to facilitate the exchange of ideas and science involving basic biology and pathways of angiogenesis and microenvironment in disease processes that can be used for specific targeting of microenvironment of different diseases to build precision therapy.  Clinician scientists will present the results of ongoing clinical trials on anti-angiogenesis, microenvironment targeting and related therapies and discuss cardio-toxicity related to those treatments.  The course will also discussed the novel genetic and imaging methods to assess tumor vasculature or stroma for monitoring the effectiveness of angiogenesis or stromal response in the pre-clinical and clinical trials to develop more effective individualized medicine regimen for the patients. In addition, the symposium will assist in establishing strong collaborations among leading national, international, and Mayo Clinic experts in the related field.
