Course Highlights:

This two and half day CME course offers a multidisciplinary update on the prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, management, and treatment of benign and malignant breast disease, as well as high-risk and survivorship care. Expert faculty present the latest advances in genetics, diagnostics, and treatment, with practical insights, case-based discussions, and interactive sessions for clinical practice.

Target Audience

This course is designed for primary care providers, oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, pathologists, gynecologists, and advanced practice providers who diagnose and treat patients with breast cancer.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe how surgical management is applied to high-risk breast lesions and breast cancer.
  • Describe breast skin lesions, disorders, and management.
  • Describe risk-reducing medications, risks and benefits.
  • Describe how to evaluate and manage breast pain, including diagnostic approaches and treatment strategies.
  • Describe how to manage high-risk breast patients and mutation carriers, including the role of hormone therapy in risk reduction and treatment.
  • Describe FES - PET Imaging in ER positive breast cancer.
  • Describe how to manage breast disorders and breast cancer in pregnant and older patient populations, including key clinical considerations and treatment adaptations.
  • Describe how recent innovations are advancing breast reconstruction, including emerging techniques and outcomes.
  • Describe how to manage the axilla and apply radiation de-escalation strategies in breast cancer care.
  • Describe future of standardized risk-assessment and AI-based risk score and breast cancer risk-assessment calculators.
  • Describe contralateral prophylactic mastectomy in the average-risk patient.
