Designed for board-certified practitioners in operational aerospace medicine, the program emphasizes practical solutions to known and emerging clinical problems encountered during spaceflight, in-flight health maintenance, and post-mission rehabilitation. Participants will engage in state-of-the-art clinical reviews by clinical subject-matter experts, as well as clinical demonstrations, in small-group discussions on topics such as the evaluation and management of space motion sickness, urinary retention, right-to-left shunting, clot detection, hypoxic atmospheres, radiation exposure, and pertinent emerging diagnostic and treatment methods for spaceflight environments.
Through collaborative dialogue, didactic lectures, and hands-on learning, attendees will gain actionable insights to enhance clinical decision-making and operational readiness in this rapidly evolving domain.

Target Audience
Advanced and experienced practitioners with board certifications in aerospace medicine or related operational medicine disciplines. No students, trainees, residents, or fellows are permitted to register.
Learning Objectives
Attendance at any Mayo Clinic course does not indicate or guarantee competence or proficiency in the skills, knowledge or performance of any care or procedure(s) which may be discussed or taught in this course.
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:
- Apply advanced aerospace and spaceflight physiology to clinical risk assessment.
- Diagnose and manage spaceflight-related clinical conditions of concern.
- Evaluate a patient for right-to-left shunting.
- Assess and treat thrombotic events with available pharmaceutical agents and manage emanating risks.
- Manage physiologic deconditioning and medical contingencies associated with spaceflight.
- Assess the known data from flight experience to date and emanating lessons for clinical practice
- Anticipate emerging clinical challenges in long-duration and commercial spaceflight, including environmental hazards such as lunar dust exposure, and formulate a clinical surveillance program.
