The Mayo Clinic Division of Community Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Palliative Care offers this program to equip family practitioners, internists, general practitioners, advanced nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, with up-to-date strategies for caring for older adults, including evaluation, longevity medicine, palliative care, and innovative models.
Target Audience
Family practitioners, internists, general practitioners, advanced nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and pharmacists.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify nonpharmacological strategies to help maintain independence in patients with mild cognitive impairment
- Describe a practical approach to implement heart failure guideline-directed medical therapy in older adults
- Provide a framework for the use of pain adjuvant agents in older adults
- Describe goal‑concordant care as a strategy to enhance quality of life in older adults

It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
American Board of Surgery (ABS)
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME and Self-Assessment requirements of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program.
