Build partnership and hope—fast.
This interactive workshop equips you with concise, non-stigmatizing communication tools to build partnership and foster hope, even in time-limited visits. Led by Emrys Fonseca, MB, BCh, BAO, MS, the session offers brief, clinically grounded overviews of select complex conditions followed by small group case discussions, pair-and-share practice, and a whole group debrief so you leave with “nuggets” and micro skills you can use tomorrow. You’ll learn patient-centered phrases and framing that validate lived experience, introduce science without jargon, and create momentum for self-management, appropriate referrals, and follow-up—so patients feel heard, and you feel confident.

This is an optional workshop, being held as part of the A Systematic Approach to Medically Unexplained Symptoms 2026 conference. Separate purchase from the general session is required. This session is available in-person only. Livestream is not available.
