Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) is most valuable when integrated with the history, physical examination, and other clinical data to answer focused clinical questions. This interactive workshop moves beyond an organ-based approach to ultrasound education by organizing learning around two common patient presentations: dyspnea and the red, swollen leg.

Participants will alternate between hands-on scanning and small-group, case-based discussions that emphasize image acquisition, image interpretation, and clinical application. Through interactive cases and faculty-guided discussion, learners will explore how POCUS can refine the differential diagnosis, increase diagnostic confidence, and inform patient management while recognizing the strengths and limitations of bedside ultrasound.

The workshop is taught by an experienced, multidisciplinary faculty of physicians and advanced practice providers who incorporate POCUS into everyday patient care across a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient and outpatient practice. Faculty will provide individualized coaching during hands-on scanning sessions while sharing practical insights into integrating POCUS into diverse clinical workflows.

No prior ultrasound experience is required to participate; however, participants with some prior POCUS experience may find that it enhances their learning and engagement during the workshop.

Designed for physicians and advanced practice providers from all practice settings, this workshop is appropriate for clinicians seeking to strengthen their ability to incorporate POCUS into everyday patient care.
