Mayo Clinic Pulmonary Pathology Workshop 2017

This two-day course will provide pathologists, pulmonologists and residents pivotal diagnostic, predictive and prognostic information on lung tumors, many forms of non-neoplastic lung diseases, respiratory cytology, pleuritis, tumors of the pleura, and thymic lesions. The course features two keynote speakers as well as workshops that incorporate attendee submitted case presentations. This will allow for the discussion of clinical and histopathological correlations of interesting and cutting-edge pulmonary pathology cases. Workshop format will include a 20-minute presentation by a course faculty member followed by moderated 40 minutes of case presentations.

Case Submission Guidelines: Deadline EXTENDED July 31, 2017
The case presentation will feature the discussion of the clinical and histopathological correlations of interesting and cutting-edge pulmonary pathology cases. It will also allow for opportunities for participants to present their own cases and discuss findings with course faculty. Workshop format will include a 15 minute presentation by a course faculty member followed by moderated 45 minutes of submitted case presentations. Each case submission is to be no longer than 5 minutes. At least one of the authors must register and attend the conference. Please email FLA CME Abstracts for additional details.

Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Develop a more comprehensive interpretation of the diagnostic criteria for interstitial lung diseases
- Enhance diagnostic skills in classification of tumors of the lung, pleura and thymus
- Apply current guidelines for appropriate test utilization.
