World-renowned pathologists, Dr. Esther Oliva, expert in gynecologic pathology, Dr. Rondell P. Graham, expert in gastrointestinal and liver pathology, Dr. Rafael Jimenez, expert in breast pathology, and Dr. Aziza Nassar, expert in cytology, join an elite roster of speakers for this seventh annual 2.5-day general surgical pathology course. This course covers a broad range of subjects in diagnostic pathology including, but not limited to, thoracic, head & neck, genitourinary, soft tissue, dermatopathology, neuropathology, and hematopathology. Presentations are geared towards the general surgical pathologist to include common diagnostic challenges, need-to-know updates, and emerging issues. Attendee participation is encouraged via an audience response system and engaging case reviews including interactive sessions using digital pathology.

Target Audience

This course is designed for pathologists, pathologist assistants, pathology fellows and residents, and allied health staff with an interest in diagnostic pathology as well as surgeons and oncologists with an interest in new pathologic staging criteria.

Learning Objectives

Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Classify high-grade endometrial tumors using the most current molecular developments
  • Determine diagnostic strategies to diagnose breast spindle cell lesions
  • Identify glandular neoplasms on cervical cytology
  • Interpret the role of artificial intelligence in cytopathology adequacy assessment
  • Determine the impact of the 2021 WHO Classification in Central Nervous System Tumors
  • Diagnose recently described head and neck tumors
  • Evaluate common liver biopsies for medical diseases
  • Determine the impact of the 2021 WHO Classification in Hematologic Neoplasms
  • Classify high-grade ovarian sex-cord stromal tumors using the most current molecular developments
