This conference focuses on providing the most up-to-date, evidence-based guidelines and treatment pathways necessary to optimally care for hospitalized patients. Target Audience

Learning Objectives

Upon conclusion of this course, the learner should be able to :  

  • Describe a rational approach to assessment and management of the high acuity hospitalized patient
  • Formulate an action plan based on scientific rationale, evidence-based standards of care, and practice guidelines.
  • Choose appropriate and timely consultation and/or referral when necessary.|
  • Describe heart failure management in complex hospitalized patients.
  • Describe approach to hospitalized patients with thrombocytopenia.
  • Review the impact the COVID pandemic has had on patients with substance abuse disorders and be able to provide evidence based treatment options.
  • Recognize hypertensive emergency and appropriately manage.
