To increase the knowledge of oncology staff members towards the care of sexual and gender diverse (SGD) individuals, promoting culturally competent and inclusive cancer care within the medical oncology department.

Target Audience

This course is designed for physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, residents/fellows, care coordinators, community health workers.

    1. How to handle making a mistake
    2. Discussing sex and chemo precautions with patients and their partner(s).
    3. Fertility & pregnancy considerations related to sexual orientation and gender diverse people.

  1. 12:30 – 12:45 pm Demonstrate communication scenarios that staff may find unfamiliar or cause anxiety - 15 minutes
  2. 12:45 – 1:00 pm Staff resources supporting gender-affirming care - 15 minutes
