This course is designed to enhance the knowledge and clinical skills in the area of hematology malignancies, including leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. Learners will gain a deeper understanding of the staging, management, and long-term care considerations associated with these complex hematology malignancies. Assessing and managing structural and metabolic oncology emergencies will also be covered in this course.

Target Audience

This CNE course is designed for nurses in hematology/oncology or who are interested in the specialty.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the risk factors, symptoms, screening and cancer types for lymphoma, leukemia and multiple myeloma
  • Identify the indicators and risk factors for the following oncologic emergencies: spinal cord compression, hyperleukocytosis, superior vena cava syndrome and hemorrhagic cystitis
