Please note, this hands-on session will require working with a partner. Social distancing will be maintained as much as possible, however, this may not be feasible during the entire session.
This workshop is designed to educate participants on the proper and safe application of lower extremity compression, which may be utilized with a variety of diagnoses.
This multidisciplinary course is intended for healthcare providers who care for wound care patients. Disciplines include physicians, pedorthists, podiatrists, advanced practice providers (NP/PA, WOC, CNS, RN, LPN, etc.), physical therapists, dietitians, medical trainees (medical students, residents, fellows, etc.) and others who care for patients with wounds.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify the principles underlying the care of chronic wounds
- Describe systemic factors that may impair healing
- Describe specific diagnostic tests related to wound assessment
- Demonstrate multiple modalities in wound care
- Discuss advances in wound healing therapeutics as related to regenerative medicine
