This three-day course is designed to provide the latest diagnostic and treatment strategies for comprehensive wound management. The program is multidisciplinary with faculty representing various wound-related fields. Multiple educational formats will be used, including didactic sessions, interactive panel discussions, and case presentations that offer comprehensive wound-management strategies (from basics to high-level). Wound ambassador dinner with case presentations, faculty, and Q&A with audience participation. The conference will meet the continuing education needs of a range of wound care providers, from novices to experts.

 

Student Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships will be awarded to selected active student learners who are currently enrolled in a training program. Scholarships will be provided to offer a discounted $100 registration fee. Those interested in receiving a scholarship are required to submit a brief 1 paragraph essay explaining the importance and relevance of attending this symposium. Essays will be reviewed, and scholarship recipients determined by the course directors. This is a two-step process: 1) Submit your essay here. 2) After essays are reviewed and accepted, details will be provided to recipients on how to register. The deadline for submission is December 1, 2024.

Target Audience

This multidisciplinary course is intended for healthcare providers who care for patients with wounds. Disciplines include physicians, pedorthists, podiatrists, advanced practice providers (NP/PA), WOC, CNS, RN, LPN, physical therapists, dietitians, medical trainees (medical students, residents, fellows, etc.) and others who care for patients with wounds.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss diagnostic approaches to management of foot ulcerations in the setting of peripheral arterial disease and critical limb ischemia.
  • Identify surgical, medical management and other treatment modalities for complex wounds.
  • Discuss advanced methods for noninvasive tools for prevention and identification prior to wound development.
