Approaches to Pediatric Depression and Related Disorders 2015

This interactive course will focus on recent developments in the diagnosis, assessment, and multimodal treatment planning for pediatric depression and related conditions such as medical comorbidities, ADHD, eating disorders, and anxiety. Course faculty will emphasize an evidence-based approach and highlight cutting edge research findings with structured psychotherapeutic techniques and psychopharmacology. Throughout the day, sessions will include self-assessment activities (with audience response system) and interactive discussions with faculty. These sessions will facilitate challenging case discussions (generated by participants and course faculty) and treatment planning for children and adolescents with depression and comorbid disorders.
Registration
The registration fee includes tuition, comprehensive electronic course syllabus, light continental breakfast, boxed lunch, and break refreshments. Although it is not Mayo School of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) policy to limit the number of registrants for a course, conference room facilities may necessitate closing of enrollment; therefore, early registration is advised. A letter of confirmation will be sent upon receipt of payment and completed registration form. Please present the confirmation letter when checking in at the meeting registration desk.

If attending the course but not staying at the Loews Minneapolis Hotel, the closest self-parking option is the Mayo Clinic Square parking ramp, located on 7th Street between Hennepin Avenue and First Avenue, directly below the hotel. Hourly rates are subject to change and you will be charged each time you exit the ramp.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Identify correct diagnosis of depression and bipolar disorder in children and adolescents
- Discuss comorbidities, including trauma, eating disorders, psychosocial stress, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), chronic pain and chronic medication conditions
- Articulate a comprehensive treatment plan for depressed children and adolescents
