Mayo Clinic Application of Quality Improvement Tools and Methods – Silver Level is a comprehensive program on the identification of quality gaps and the application of quality improvement tools and methods to solve quality deficiencies. Attendees in this course understand the importance of quality improvement in health care and make it a part of what they do every day. They know how to measure quality in order to identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement and obtain the skills and knowledge to become problem solvers.

Target Audience

This version of the Silver Level course is only available to non-Mayo employees, and most often, is given to audiences at MCCN member sites or to international groups with the help of Provider Relations. It is open to anyone with an interest in quality improvement.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Articulate the case for patient-centered quality and affordability
  • Apply systems and process thinking to your work
  • Employ DMAIC framework as a structured approach for improvement
  • Convey resources for Silver Certification
  • Select and use appropriate tools within DMAIC framework
  • Identify and measure gaps in quality
  • Apply process improvement principles

Live Activities:
Request for cancellations must be submitted in writing to cme@mayo.edu. When cancelling a registration for a course 14 days or more before the course start date, a full refund (minus a $75 administrative fee) will be issued in the same form of payment the registration was received. No refunds are granted less than 14 days before the course start date.

Online/Enduring Material Activities:
Customers may cancel their participation from an online activity if no credit has been claimed and a written request is made within 30 days of purchase. A full refund minus a maximum $75.00 administrative fee will be provided. Administrative fees might be lower on activities that were initially $150 or less.
