This workshop includes two 90-minute interactive sessions led by expert faculty from the Office of Mayo Clinic Experience. Participants will learn how Mayo Clinic engages and empowers staff to communicate with empathy and compassion during different stages of the emotion-filled patient journey. Elements of the Mayo Experience Model of Communication (XMOC) will be shared. Participants will also walk away with useful strategies they can implement in their own organizations.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Summarize how components of the Experience Model of Communication (XMOC) can enhance the patient experience.
- Describe the Communication Escalation Curve.
- Develop an empowerment plan for your organization.
