Mayo Clinic's 6th Annual Cutaneous Oncology Symposium in Orlando, Florida is a two-day CME course focused on the latest topics in cutaneous oncology covering the fields of dermatology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology and medical oncology. The goal of this symposium is to discuss the available evidence of these topics to assist in making the most informed decisions.

In addition, numerous presentations and discussions will highlight current and new advances in therapeutic treatments for both melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers, especially, basal cell, squamous cell and Merkel cell carcinoma.

As part of the Mayo Clinic 6th Annual Cutaneous Oncology Symposium, a Poster Session for presentation of original research and challenging cases dedicated to the fields of dermatology, surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology or plastic surgery either case series, case-control, or randomized trials; as well as outcome studies, quality improvement or practice innovations and interesting case reports, will be held at this meeting.

Target Audience

This course is designed for dermatologists, surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, plastic surgeons, radiation oncologists, head and neck surgeons, physicians in internal medicine and family practice and physician extenders, such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Analyze literature regarding the utility of molecular assays in skin cancer diagnosis and management
  • Examine in-office and at-home technologies for skin cancer management
  • Review data regarding disparities in skin cancer outcomes in skin of patients of color
  • Review management strategies for cutaneous side-effects of immunotherapy
  • Examine systemic therapies for the management of local advanced or metastatic basal cell carcinoma
  • Review of multidisciplinary care for cutaneous T-cell lymphoma
  • Analyze the literature regarding management to genital squamous cell carcinoma
  • Examine tumor board clinical cases and discuss multidisciplinary approach to management
