Target Audience
This course is designed for gastroenterologists, internal medicine physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and trainees (medical students, residents, fellows).
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Apply current evidence to the early management of acute pancreatitis, including fluid therapy, nutrition, analgesia, antibiotics, and selection of patients for emerging disease-modifying therapies.
- Discuss evaluating patients with idiopathic recurrent acute pancreatitis and chronic pancreatitis using an evidence-based approach to genetic testing, pain management, and selection of medical, endoscopic, or surgical therapy.
- Identify appropriate indications, timing, and limitations of advanced pancreatic endoscopic interventions, including pancreatoscopy-guided therapy, EUS-guided drainage/necrosectomy, and EUS-guided pancreatic duct intervention.
- Compare contemporary treatment strategies for autoimmune pancreatitis and IgG4-related disease, including corticosteroids, inebilizumab, rituximab, and other B-cell–targeted approaches.
- Assess EPI using fecal elastase and complementary functional testing, and optimize pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy when patients have an incomplete clinical response.
- Apply current pancreatic cyst risk-stratification and surveillance recommendations, including decisions regarding duration of surveillance, molecular testing, surgery, and EUS-guided cyst ablation.
- Identify individuals who may benefit from pancreatic cancer surveillance and integrate imaging, biomarkers, tissue acquisition, and emerging precision therapies into multidisciplinary management.
- Discuss multidisciplinary case-based reasoning to formulate management plans for complex pancreatitis, indeterminate pancreatic masses, and high-risk pancreatic cysts when guideline recommendations are uncertain or competing.

Getting Around - Rochester Travel Map
Travel
Rochester, Minnesota is serviced by the Rochester International Airport (RST) with multiple flights and connections daily. Access to and from the airport is provided by taxi, shuttle service, and rental car. The airport is located approximately 10 miles south from the Mayo Clinic campus.
Note to Travelers: Several cities in the United States are named Rochester. When you make airline reservations and check your baggage, be sure that your destination is Rochester, Minnesota (RST) and that your baggage has been properly tagged.
Flying through the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (MSP) is another option. There are two shuttle services that provide direct service to Mayo Clinic and the surrounding area. MSP is located approximately 80 miles north of Rochester with a drive time of approximately 90 minutes.
