This three day CME course provides a multidisciplinary update in prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, management, and treatment of benign and malignant breast diseases. High-risk cases and survivorship issues are also discussed. Faculty are multidisciplinary experts in their field presenting the latest diagnostic, treatment and management options. Topics include: genetics and high-risk management; breast imaging modalities; supplemental screening options for dense breasts; updates in surgical management; fertility preservation options; and vaccines in breast cancer.

LIVE (in-person) attendees must comply with all live course requirements and guidelines and applicable state and local COVID-19 travel restrictions, guidance and resources.

Target Audience

This course is designed for primary care providers, oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, pathologists, gynecologists, and advanced practice providers who diagnose and treat patients with breast cancer.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify risk implications and multidisciplinary breast cancer management
  • Describe updates in breast reconstruction
  • Define breast cancer survivorship care
  • Identify disparities in breast care
  • Review advances in immunotherapy and vaccines in breast cancer
  • Recognize management options for the high-risk patient including risk assessment, preventive therapy and role of hormone therapy
  • Recommend surgical, radiation, and medical oncology management and treatment options for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients
  • Summarize contemporary axillary management strategies and their risks
  • Summarize who should have genetic testing in 2021
  • Recognize current controversies in the management of DCIS
  • Summarize new clinical trials and advances in chemotherapy agents for patients with breast cancer
  • Review management of benign breast diseases
  • Recognize new supplemental imaging studies and the role of breast MRI in screening for breast cancer
