This three-day course is designed to provide core knowledge with updates on the latest diagnostic and treatment strategies for comprehensive, multi-disciplinary wound management. In addition, dedicated education on focused topics within vascular medicine, lymphedema and adjunctive interventions will also be offered. The program is multidisciplinary with faculty representing various wound-related fields. Multiple educational formats will be used, including didactic sessions, interactive panel discussions, and case presentations to explore comprehensive management strategies.

Target Audience
This multidisciplinary symposium is intended for healthcare professionals who care for patients with vascular conditions and/or wounds. Disciplines include physicians, pedorthists, podiatrists, advanced practice providers (NPs/PAs), WOCs, CNSs, RNs, LPNs, physical therapists, dietitians, medical trainees (medical students, residents, fellows, etc.) and others.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Outline the detection of biofilm within wounds and appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Describe the recognition of lymphedema and lymphatic dysfunction and its impact on multifactorial, nonhealing wounds and early recidivism rates.
- Describe the importance of Podiatric Medicine and Podiatric Surgery to institutional care of patients with diabetic foot ulcers and those with biomechanical foot and ankle conditions contributing to wounds.
- Identify and engage with emerging technologies for chronic wound care.
- Discuss the importance of early education and interdisciplinary collaborative care in holistic management of patients with chronic wounds.
