- Describe the improvements in the tools and equipment that may successfully allow for ureteroscopic treatment of large stones.
- Review the risks associated with newer technologies compared to the standard of care.
- Review how to use the technologies available.
- Assess the appropriateness of ureteroscopy for patients presenting with large renal or ureteral stones, using current clinical guidelines and criteria to guide treatment planning.
- Evaluate and counsel patients on the risks and benefits of advanced ureteroscopic technologies (e.g., ureteral access sheaths, single-use ureteroscopes) compared to traditional treatment modalities like shock wave lithotripsy or percutaneous nephrolithotomy.
