Mayo Clinic Integrated Education and Research Building: Center for Procedural Innovation
The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) procedural skills and device management didactic education and competency validation course is designed to ensure FNPs develop and maintain the knowledge and technical proficiency required for safe and effective practice in primary care settings.
The didactic portion will be delivered through an asynchronous learning platform that includes interactive online modules, video demonstrations, and evidence-based research, allowing participants to build a strong theoretical foundation at their own pace.
Hands-on competency validations will cover high-frequency procedures and device management skills performed by FNPs in primary care. Through expert-led instruction, simulation-based patient scenarios, skills workshops with observation and performance, small group discussions, and competency/checklist validation, this program ensures that FNPs can confidently and safely perform essential primary care procedures and device management.
