DESCRIPTION
Grand Rounds are the highest scholarly and academic activity in our department.  Presentations are focused on research, reviews, and innovative ideas both in psychiatry and psychology.  Speakers must possess a national reputation or be active participants of critical clinical, research, educational endeavors that we have at Mayo or we wish to develop.

TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience is multidisciplinary consisting of physicians, psychologists, psychiatry and psychology trainees, advanced practice providers, mid-level health care providers, psychiatric nursing staff, social workers, and allied health providers.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  • Recognize current inequities and barriers to mental health care, causes for these and potential solutions.
  • Identify current best practices to develop an inclusive learning and health care environment.

As a jointly Accredited Organization, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program.  Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program.  State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit.  Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science maintains responsibility for this course.  Social workers completing this course will receive 1.00 continuing education credits.
